Talah has been a yoga practitioner for ten years. Her journey began in a hatha class in Portland, Oregon and has led her back to her native St. Louis where she's been practicing primarily Ashtanga yoga. Her Yoga Basics class will provide the new student with a broad and solid foundation from which to grow. Asana, pranayama and vinyasa will be introduced and explored and alignment and form will be emphasized. Talah is also a licensed massage therapist with six years experience. She offers relaxation and deep tissue massage and generally incorporates acupressure techniques into each session. She believes that yoga and massage are transformative by nature: by nurturing the connection between mind, body and spirit we become happier, more present and most importantly integrated.

stacy Stacy Broussard, RYT
Stacy has been practicing yoga for over ten years and has recently become certified to share her love for yoga with others. Stacy's Hatha Yoga classes focus on calming the mind, bringing awareness to the body, and awakening the spirit. Inspired by the sanskrit words "Lokah Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu", which means "May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts and actions of my life in some way contribute to that happiness and freedom," Stacy intends to help each student find peace within.

Laurie Brockhaus, RYT
Laurie hopes to share with students the serenity and joy she has found in yoga. Laurie discovered yoga over ten years ago, and became certified as a registered yoga teacher in 2004. Currently training as a clinical social worker, Laurie strongly believes in a mind-body approach in promoting health and wellness. Her classes offer a safe and fun place for new and experienced yogis and yoginis to explore movement, emotion, and creativity. Laurie encourages students toward self-awareness and acceptance by helping them to find their own path and pace in yoga.

Renee has been practicing yoga for eight years. Trained in the Hatha yoga style, Renee designs her classes to help students find their inner strength in body, mind, and spirit. As a trained social worker, Renee believes that the mental and emotional aspects of a person are inseparable from the physical body. She hopes to make yoga accessible to all students, allowing for a transformational experience that will have a lasting effect in their everyday live.

Jaime has been a naturopath since 1995 and studied acupunture in mainland China with Nanjing University of TCM. He started practicing yoga at the age of 8 and became a yoga teacher in Venezuela 1967. He taught Yoga for almost 10 years at Saint Louis University and Christian Hospital. He is a Register Yoga Alliance Teacher (500 hours), founder of number of yoga and wellness centers in Venezuela and America and is an East West Natural Healing, Inc. International lecturer: Spain, Mexico, Venezuela China and USA.

It wasn't long after attendng his first yoga class that Joe knew he would someday begin teacher training.  The chronic shoulder pain that he suffered from (an old football injury) had completely disappeared and several other more subtle transforming changes to both body and mind had started to take place.  He knew he wanted to share with others the many benefits that can be found through the ancient art of yoga.

Joe deeply honors the Divine Light of every individual.  He is committed to helping his students realize their highest potential- that which comes from within.  Joe's style of Tantric Hatha Yoga has been influenced by each of the incredible teachers that he has been blessed to practice and train with.

Melissa Swank
Melissa has been practicing different forms of yoga for over ten years. Between Bikram, Ashtanga and Iyengar styles, she has learned how her practice of yoga can both physically challenge her body and calm and enlighten her mind.

As a continuation of her lifelong yoga journey, Melissa recently completed  the Yoga Teacher Training at Urban Breath.

When she teaches a yoga class, Melissa tries to focus on alignment, posture and mental awareness of the present moment through concentration on the breath. Above all, she believes that yoga is a lifelong practice; a personal journey that should be enjoyed and nurtured by practitioners of all ages and abilities!

Ashley has been practicing yoga for 8 years is a licensed massage therapist as well.  She wanted to expand her ways of healing and in 2009 came to Urban Breath to complete the teachers training which sparked an even stronger love and dedication to the practice of yoga, which she aims to share with all of her students.

Her classes focus upon alignment, breath work and discovering your own confidence as a student. Her goal as a teacher is to show each student they have the strength to transform their mind, body and soul through practice and dedication. Most importantly Ashley wants every student to feel welcome, strong and connected to their inner voice.

Sheila Fazio is a Holistic Licensed Clinical Social Worker that is committed to helping individuals reach their life goals, restore balance and wellness in their lives.

Sheila provide holistic services to her clients by incorporating Eastern and Western modalities into practice including the ancient teachings of yoga, breathwork, meditation. Her teachings draw from Buddhist philosophy of self inquiry, radical acceptance, compassion and unconditional love. Ms. Fazio also provides Therapeutic Massage, Reiki and Holistic Counseling.

Sheila has been practicing yoga for over 7 years and honors her inspiring teachers Saul David Ray, Matthew Krepps, Rod Stryker and Kitty Daly. Sheila received teacher training through Barefoot Yoga Studio and through ParaYoga- Rod Stryker.

Darek Russell is a licensed massage therapist, offering therapeutic massage with an emphasis on the Swedish style as well as myofascial release—a gentle yet effective technique involving the slow release of accumulated tension from the muscles and connective tissues. Having practiced yoga, movement arts and martial arts for over 15 years, Darek understands the needs of active bodies as well as the importance of integrating body, mind, and spirit in our daily lives and practices. The combinatio of knowledge as a therapist and yoga instructor has given me a better understanding of just how truly connected we are.
